She survived a chemical attack

Jasmine Clausell: A Story of Kindness, Courage, and Survival

A Life Full of Responsibility

Jasmine Clausell was 27 years old. She lived in Mobile, Alabama, and she was a single mother raising her four-year-old son Ace. On top of that, she was a nursing student working toward her degree. Life was busy, exhausting, and full of responsibility. But Jasmine always made time to care for others. Friends, family, even people she barely knew could count on her for help. That was just who she was.

Among the people in her life was Quicheay Williams. Jasmine had known Quicheay for a while. In early February 2025, Jasmine learned that Quicheay had fallen on hard times. She was homeless and sleeping in her car somewhere in Atlanta with her dog. She did not know where she would go next or how she would make it through each day.

Jasmine reached out without hesitation. She said, "Come stay with me. Just for a few weeks. Get yourself together. Maybe find a job. I will help you with whatever you need." Jasmine offered help without thinking twice. She did not consider her own schedule, her responsibilities, or the stress of adding someone else to her household. She just wanted to help.

Opening Her Home

On February 11, Quicheay arrived at Jasmine's home on Springdale Road in Mobile. At first, everything seemed normal. Jasmine was helping a friend. Life continued as usual. Jasmine attended classes, Ace played in the living room, and Quicheay settled in.

But after about two weeks, Jasmine began to notice changes. Quicheay was not acting like someone grateful for help. She was not looking for work. Instead, she complained constantly. Jasmine described it as "a lot of complaining" and "her energy was just off." Something in the house felt heavy. Tension was building, and Jasmine could not put her finger on why.

Trying to Set Boundaries

By Monday morning, February 24, Jasmine had reached her limit. She needed to get herself and Ace ready for school. She needed calm and order. Before starting their day, she sat Quicheay down and calmly explained that it was time for her to find another place to stay.

Jasmine expected disappointment or awkwardness. She expected maybe some upset words. She did not expect what happened next.

The Attack Begins

As Jasmine prepared breakfast, she heard the microwave running in the kitchen. She assumed Quicheay was making something to eat. Moments later, Quicheay appeared holding a cup. By now, Jasmine's grandfather had woken up because of the noise. Quicheay snapped.

She shouted, "I am not going nowhere! What you gonna do? You gonna put me out? You gonna make me leave?"

Jasmine knew things were getting out of control. She called 911. As she spoke to emergency services, Quicheay cursed at her grandfather and forced her way deeper into the house. Then she threw the contents of the cup directly at Jasmine's face.

The chemical burned immediately. Jasmine was blinded in one eye. It ate through her skin. Burns spread from her face down to her neck, her back, her arms, and her right leg. Her clothes and the couch were damaged. The pain was unbearable. Her mother later suspected the chemical could have been Drano or another dangerous substance heated in the microwave.

Even in the pain, Jasmine saw something more terrifying. Quicheay pulled out a gun from her pocket. A struggle began. Jasmine's grandfather grabbed the gun, but Quicheay was not done. She picked up broken glass and started stabbing at Jasmine's hands.

Finding Strength

Despite the burns and the attacks, Jasmine managed to hold her ground. She restrained Quicheay, refusing to let her go. Quicheay begged, "Let me go, let me go." Jasmine held firm. "No, I am not letting you go. You trippin, you need to chill out," she said.

The police arrived soon after. Quicheay Williams was arrested and taken to Mobile Metro Jail on a thirty thousand dollar bond. Jasmine was rushed to the hospital. Her injuries were severe. The chemical burns reached as deep as her fat tissue. She needed multiple surgeries. Her eyesight was damaged. Her son Ace had to watch his mother endure unimaginable pain.

The Strength of Kindness

From her hospital bed, Jasmine spoke with remarkable clarity. She admitted her feelings were hurt, but she was not angry. "I still do care about her," she said. "It is crazy, you know, because she did me bad. But it is not in my heart to hate."

This is Jasmine Clausell. She was attacked in her own home. She was burned and physically harmed. Yet she did not lose her capacity for compassion. She still tried to understand why someone she welcomed into her home would act with such violence.

Acts of Kindness Can Be Risky

Jasmine's story is heartbreaking. It is also inspiring. It reminds us that helping others can make us vulnerable. It also shows that courage and empathy can exist even in the face of danger. Jasmine is a nursing student, a mother, and a caretaker. She faced unimaginable violence without losing her sense of humanity.

The question remains. Why did this happen? Why did someone she tried to help turn violent? Jasmine may never fully understand Quicheay's motives. Yet she shows that strength is not measured by revenge or anger. Strength is measured by survival, resilience, and holding on to your heart.

A Lesson in Courage

Jasmine’s courage extends beyond surviving the attack. She protected her son, defended herself, and restrained a dangerous assailant. She faced chemical burns, stab wounds, and a gun. She acted decisively even under extreme stress. Her story is a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the complexity of human relationships.

It also shows that kindness is worth it, even when it comes with risks. Jasmine’s generosity and empathy made her vulnerable. Yet, her character and her actions inspire anyone who hears her story.

Forgiveness and Humanity

What makes Jasmine extraordinary is her ability to forgive. Even after being burned and attacked, she refuses to hold hatred in her heart. She understands that not everyone shares the same intentions or values. She continues to lead with compassion and grace.

Her story is a testament to the strength of the human spirit, the courage of a mother protecting her child, and the power of empathy. Jasmine Clausell acted selflessly. She loved deeply. She faced trauma with dignity.

Conclusion

Jasmine Clausell is a mother, a nursing student, and a hero. She opened her home to help a friend. She endured a violent attack. She survived burns, a gun threat, and stabbing. And she did it with courage, strength, and forgiveness.

Her story is not only about tragedy. It is about resilience. It is about empathy. It is about standing strong when the world shows its darkest side. Jasmine Clausell survived a nightmare. She held her family together. She did not give in to hate. And she reminds us that courage and kindness are never wasted.
